Production: Seder (working title) (Short Film)

Director: Beverly. It is a film about a Jewish family dinner, taking place at a Seder during Passover. It is meant to show the family tensions and interesting dynamics that go on when all members get together. It is also about the conflict of traditional and modern viewpoints, and the different ways people choose to celebrate their customs.
1. Female / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity. This character is the mother of the family, named SARAH. She can have dark features or look 'Jewish'. We are somewhat open to different looks. Her character is one that loves to follow the traditions of her religion, but what with her career and kids, she feels guilty because she has lost touch with some aspects of the religion.
2. Female / 18-24 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
This character is LEORA, the daughter of SARAH. She can look 'Jewish' with dark features, but we are open to other looks. LEORA is a bit spunky, stubborn, and very open-minded to other cultures, although she loves the traditions of the Jewish faith. Her open-mindedness sometimes causes friction with her family.
3. Male / 18-24 yrs. / African American.
This character is MARK, LEORA's boyfriend. The character is supposed to be an Ethiopian Jew, which causes tension and confusion among LEORA's traditionally white Jewish family. MARK is easygoing, indepedent, and strong-willed.
4. Male / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
This character is AARON, the father of the family. He loves following the traditions, but is more open-minded, and does not feel guilty for picking and choosing which traditions he celebrates.
5. Male / 6-10 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
This is BRANDON, SARAH's nephew. He is bit of an attention-seeker, due to the fact that his mom is barely home. He is very needy, but really enjoys spending time with his family.
6. Female / 61+ yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
This character is BUBBIE RACHEL, the quintessential Jewish grandmother, who is always nagging her family members and judging them, but is doing it because she just really cares about them.
